Our popular rugby is reinforced throughout and designed for your favorite sport or adventure. Nantucket Whaler 1837 Crested Rugby can withstand just about anything. Made from pre-shrunk 100% Carolina cotton and a high stiff collar to keep the wind away.
Our crest tells a story of the whaler "Nantucket" which was built on Nantucket and launched from the brant point lighthouse shipyard in 1837. The star on our crest is in honor of Maria Mitchell, a Nantucketer and the first female American astronomer whom the whalers trusted to navigate their travels by the stars. Historically waves on a crest represent those who make a living from the sea.
